FAQs Regarding ALETRIS

What other services do you provide?
We are a full service medical clinic offering primary care medicine, women's and men's healthcare, acupuncture, naturopathic medicine, and aesthetic services. Our philosophy and practice is rooted in the principles of naturopathic medicine, and we currently have two naturopathic physicians on staff during all hours of colon hydrotherapy.

How does one become licensed to perform colon hydrotherapy?
Unfortunately there are no licensing requirements for the practice of colon hydrotherapy in the state of Arizona. That means anyone can set up shop and start practicing colon hydrotherapy. A common training program at a colon hydrotherapy school usually lasts one to two weekends long.

For us, that simply is not adequate. Our colon hydrotherapy staff is trained under a naturopathic medical director who designed and supervises the ALETRIS colon hydrotherapy program. Naturopathic physicians receive one to two years of training in colon hydrotherapy during medical schools. We feel that our training is superior to those who are only trained under certificate programs. We invite you to call us, ask us questions, and understand why our training is the best in the field.

Why is ALETRIS different?
ALETRIS philosophy centers around integration and examination of the overall wellness of the individual. Each patient is unique, and each patient deserves customized treatment. At ALETRIS, colonic irrigation is performed under the supervision of a physician, as there are contraindications. Our team is trained in understanding that colonics are just a part of an overall treatment plan addressed at the cause of illness.

Our practice is centered around the science of the body. We do not use crystals, tarot cards, chakra alignment, angel cards, or other esoteric practices during our colonic treatments. Our treatments are based on science, and our goal is to rehabilitate the colon and detoxify the body.

Many colon hydrotherapists will not treat patients who have certain issues such as active colon disease, hypertension, or anemia. Because we operate in a medical facility and under the supervision of physicians, we are much more comfortable treating patients with these concerns. Please call our office to find out if you are a candidate for colonics.

Are all colonics the same?
At ALETRIS, we use an effective and efficient low-force technique. There are practitioners in the Valley who use larger amounts of water and/or higher water pressure. We do not condone this practice as it may ultimately distend the colon.
